The EarFun Air Pro 5 lists at $89.99 and goes on sale in November 2026, on EarFun’s site and its Amazon store. EarFun hasn’t named a day. Against the Air Pro 4, it moves to Bluetooth 6.0, connects to three devices instead of two, adds an IP55 rating and claims an hour more per charge. It also drops aptX. Until reviews of the Air Pro 5 show up, I’d buy the Air Pro 4 on sale, and wait only if LE Audio or a third device is the reason you’re shopping.
Buy nowBuy the Air Pro 4 now if
- Your Android phone supports aptX Adaptive or aptX Lossless
- You want wireless charging, which EarFun lists for the Air Pro 4
- You can get it on sale for less than $89.99
Wait for the Air Pro 5 if
- You want Bluetooth 6.0 with LE Audio and Auracast from day one
- You switch between three devices, not two
- You sweat in them and want a dust rating as well (IP55)
EarFun Air Pro 5 price and release date
EarFun lists the Air Pro 5 at $89.99. It goes on sale in November 2026 from EarFun’s website and its Amazon store, in black, white or blue. EarFun first showed the earbuds at IFA 2026 in early September, and on October 26 they still weren’t on sale.
The Air Pro 4 lists at the same $89.99 on EarFun’s US store, and it usually sells for less than that on Amazon. So you’re choosing between a two-year-old pair that often sells at a discount and a new pair at full price.
What changes from the Air Pro 4 to the Air Pro 5?
The Air Pro 5 changes the connection more than the sound hardware. Drivers grow from 10 mm to 11 mm, Bluetooth moves from 5.4 to 6.0, multipoint goes from two devices to three and the water rating gains dust protection.

Air Pro 5 figures come from EarFun’s announcement as reported by Notebookcheck. Air Pro 4 figures come from EarFun’s spec sheet. All of them are maker claims.
Noise cancelling
Both pairs use adaptive hybrid ANC with six mics. EarFun gives the Air Pro 4 three manual levels plus an adaptive mode and claims up to 50 dB of reduction. The Air Pro 5 gets five levels and a wind noise setting. EarFun also says engineers from Bose’s Audio Technology business did ANC modeling, tuning and validation for the Air Pro 5. I’d treat that as a claim until someone measures how much engine rumble the Air Pro 5 actually cuts.
Battery
EarFun claims 12 hours per charge and 54 hours with the case for the Air Pro 5 with ANC off, and 8 and 36 hours with ANC on. The Air Pro 4 claims 11 and 52 hours with ANC off, and 7.5 and 35 hours with ANC on. That’s half an hour to an hour more per charge on paper. EarFun’s own Air Pro 4 FAQ shows how much codec choice matters too, since LDAC with ANC on cuts its claim to 6 hours per charge.
Codecs, aptX and LDAC
This is the change I’d check before upgrading. EarFun lists LDAC, LC3, AAC and SBC for the Air Pro 5 and no aptX. The Air Pro 4 has a Qualcomm QCC3091 chip with aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless, plus LDAC and LC3. If you own a Snapdragon Sound phone and use aptX Lossless today, the Air Pro 5 takes that away.
On an iPhone none of this matters. iPhones send AAC to both pairs, so LDAC and aptX do nothing there. My LDAC and multipoint guide covers which phones can use which codec and what happens to LDAC when a second device connects.
Bluetooth 6.0, LE Audio and three devices
The Air Pro 5 runs Bluetooth 6.0 with LE Audio, LC3 and Auracast, and EarFun says it connects to up to three devices at once when you aren’t using Auracast. The Air Pro 4 runs Bluetooth 5.4, connects to two devices, and EarFun added LE Audio and Auracast to it through a firmware update. A phone, a laptop and a tablet all paired at once is the clearest case for the Air Pro 5.
Water rating
The Air Pro 5 carries IP55, which covers dust as well as water jets. The Air Pro 4 is IPX5, rated for water only. For the gym either one is fine. If you want something that stays put on a run with your ears open, my JLab JBuds Open Sport 2 page covers a $52.99 earhook pair.
Full Air Pro 4 spec sheet, and what EarFun hasn’t published for the Air Pro 5
EarFun has no product page for the Air Pro 5 yet, so its column only has what EarFun announced at IFA. The Air Pro 4 figures come from EarFun’s Air Pro 4 page, checked October 26, 2026.

The LDAC rows matter if you bought these for hi-res audio. With LDAC and ANC both on, EarFun rates the Air Pro 4 at 6 hours, down from 11.
Air Pro 5 vs Air Pro 4 vs Soundcore Liberty 4 NC
The Soundcore Liberty 4 NC is the closest rival at this price, with LDAC and adaptive ANC for $99.99. Its figures are from Soundcore’s US product page, checked October 26, 2026.
| Spec | Air Pro 5 | Air Pro 4 | Liberty 4 NC |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $89.99 | $89.99 | $99.99 |
| Battery | 12 h / 54 h (ANC off) | 11 h / 52 h (ANC off) | 10 h / 50 h |
| Codecs | LDAC, LC3, AAC, SBC | aptX Adaptive, LDAC, SBC, LC3 | LDAC (other codecs not listed in Soundcore’s specs) |
| Bluetooth | 6.0 | 5.4 | 5.3 |

| Driver | 11 mm | 10 mm | 11 mm |

| Water rating | IP55 | IPX5 | IPX4 |
| Weight | Not published | 56 g listed | 5.2 g per earbud |
| Wireless charging | Not published | Yes | Yes |
The Liberty 4 NC costs $10 more and has the weakest water rating of the three. I’d pick the Air Pro 4 over it for aptX, or the Liberty 4 NC if you already like Soundcore’s app and HearID tuning.
Should you wait for the Air Pro 5 or buy the Air Pro 4?
I’d buy the Air Pro 4 on sale for most people. It has aptX and LDAC, a wireless charging case, two years of owner reviews and EarFun’s 50 dB ANC claim, and it usually costs less than the Air Pro 5’s $89.99 list.
- Codecs
- aptX Lossless + LDAC
- Battery
- 11 h per charge (claim)
- Multipoint
- 2 devices
- Water
- IPX5, no dust rating
- Case

- Under $89.99 list
Ratings come from EarFun's Air Pro 4 spec sheet. No dated Amazon price is shown.
Wait for the Air Pro 5 if you switch between three devices, want Bluetooth 6.0 with Auracast from day one, or want IP55 for workouts. I’d also wait for the first ANC measurements before paying $89.99, since the Bose tuning is the Air Pro 5’s main selling point and so far it’s EarFun’s claim.
